The Corporation of the Town of Georgina (Town) is seeking Submissions from qualified Contractors (Respondents) to undertake renovations (Work) for two (2) fire stations located at 165 Queensway South, Keswick, Ontario L4P 3S9 and 37 Snooks Road, Sutton, Ontario L0E 1R0. Background - Project 1 - Keswick Fire Station 1-4 Fire Station 1-4 located at 165 The Queensway South in Keswick was previously an auto dealership constructed in the 1980’s and was renovated to the current state in the mid to late 1990’s. The building is primarily clad in masonry and metal siding, with a window wall system on the eastern side of the building (former vehicle showroom). These improvements are required to maintain its usage as a Fire and Emergency Response facility. The Scope of Work entails interior and exterior work to the building as detailed in the bid document. Background – Project 2 – Sutton Fire Station 1-6 Fire Station 1-6 located at 35 Snook’s Road in Sutton and is a single storey building previously designed as a volunteer only fire station for the area. The building was constructed in the 1970’s. At present, the items requiring attention are in the interior of the building as detailed below. Project Objective The Town is undertaking this Work due to a building condition assessment conducted in 2016. The building assessment proposes recommendations to improve longevity of the facility and to meet the current service needs of the Fire Service. The building condition assessments, provides recommendations and is detailed chronologically. This Work is required to keep the building functional and prevent services from being impacted negatively. A mandatory Site meeting is required. |
